RECTOR

Rector of the University of Banking of the National Bank of Ukraine (Kyiv), Doctor of economy, Professor, Tamara Smovzhenko was born in Lviv region, Ukraine.

She graduated from National University “Lvivska politekhnika” and Lviv Commercial Academy. For many years she worked in Lviv Accounting-Credit Technical School that became the basis for establishing Lviv institute of banking of the University of Banking of the National Bank of Ukraine.

Tamara Smovzhenko has published more than 100 scientific works. She is an author of many educational manuals and monographs. She published first in Ukraine Ukrainian-language “Financial Dictionary” which was three times republished.  

Professor Tamara Smovzhenko is a Chair member of the scientific-methodical commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, editorial board of scientific editions “Herald of the National Bank of Ukraine”, “Regional economy” and a member of several specialized Scientific Councils. She teaches in universities abroad, conducts scientific researches in the field of deposit insurance, foreign capital influence on the Ukrainian banking system and financial safety of Ukraine.

Tamara Smovzhenko was awarded by the II and III degrees Order of Princess Olga, she is also a laureate of the International United Europe Awards (for high achievements in European integration development in the field of education and science) in London.

Professor Tamara Smovzhenko is a member of the Club of the Rectors of Europe; she is awarded as “honorary professor” of the International Vienna University.
