Rectorial Election

Nomination for the University of banking of the NBU principalship was considered at the Workforce Summit Conference of the University of banking of the National Bank of Ukraine that took place on February 27, 2007. Tamara Smovzhenko, Professor, Doctor of Science, Economics, Chevalier of the II and III degrees Order of Princess Olga, Laureate of the International Luka Pacioli Order, Honorary Professor of the International Vienna University had finally won the elections.  

Representatives of Lviv Institute of banking, Kharkiv Institute of banking, Cherkasy Institute of banking and the University of banking of the National Bank of Ukraine took part in the Conference. 

Igor Ivanyuk, Executive Director of the Staff Personnel Department, Member of the National Bank of Ukraine Board and Sergii Antoniuk, Head of the National bank of Ukraine educational establishments sector were also present at the Conference.

First Graduation Ceremony

The ceremonial handing in the diplomas on the basis of the high complete education took place for the first time ever in the University of banking of the National bank of Ukraine on March 19, 2007. 41 graduates got the diplomas at the educational-qualification level of Specialist in “Banking”.

Tamara Smovzhenko, Rector of the University and Valerii Ogienko, Managing Director of the Sole Proprietors Investments Guarantee Fund, Chief of the Vocational Training Chair were handing in the diplomas. Creative team of the People’s Artiste, Ivan Popovych, was also invited at the Graduation Ceremony. 

Moscow

On March 23, 2007 the University of banking of the National Bank of Ukraine (Kyiv) had signed an agreement on cooperation with the Federal State Educational Institution of the Higher Vocational Education “Financial Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation”, Moscow.

Within the constraints of the meeting of Tamara Smovzhenko, Rector of the National Bank of Ukraine (Kyiv) with Mykhailo Eskindarov, Rector of the Academy of Finances under the Government of the Russian Federation, there were also designated the main directions for the development of cooperation between the above mentioned establishments in the sphere of education and science for the purpose of the Bologna Declaration statements realization. 

Doors Open Day

On May 17, 2007 in the University of banking of the National bank of Ukraine took place the Doors Open Day where the educational establishment itself together with the Institute of Master and Postgraduate Education (the former Masters Preparation Center) and its programs for Masters, directions of the scientific cooperation of the University of banking of the National bank of Ukraine with banks and other financial institutions were represented. 

Memorandum of Cooperation

On May 17, 2007 Tamara Smovzhenko, Rector of the University of banking, Sergii Tryputen, representative from the IFC World Bank Group International Financial Corporation, leader of the project “Corporate governance in the Ukrainian banking sector” and Richard Glover, manager of the ATC training company have signed the Memorandum of Cooperation. 

According to the documents the ATC International training company will work out training programs for the University of banking programs for Masters with financial support from the IFC World Bank Group Corporation. 

Cooperation with Poltava University of Consumer Cooperatives in Ukraine

An Agreement on Cooperation with Poltava University of Consumer Cooperatives in Ukraine was signed on May 23, 2007. It provides for exchange of experience in pedagogical and methodical work, organization of public conferences and seminars, cooperation between the libraries, performing common scientific researches. 

On May 24, 2007 Tamara Smovzhenko, Rector of the University of banking of the National bank of Ukraine and Tetiana Girchenko, Director of the Institute of Master and Postgraduate Education (the former Masters Preparation Center) carried out the round table “Modern problems of the banking system development in Ukraine” where the Poltava banking establishments representatives, scientific and pedagogical staff and students of the Poltava University of Consumer Cooperatives in Ukraine took part.  

Visit to the Educational Centre “FATTER”, Schirgiswalde, Drezden

Tamara Smovzhenko, Rector of the University of banking of the National bank of Ukraine, Ganna Dutka, Director of the Lviv Institute of banking of the National bank of Ukraine and Grygorii Khoruzhyi, Deputy Rector of the University of banking of the National bank of Ukraine together with the Lviv region bankers were staying in Germany from September 24, 2007 till September 27, 2007. The representatives of the University took part in the seminar on the banking products development, familiarized with the working experience of the German banks with the VIP-clients, communicated on the interactive methods of the bankers upgrade qualifications in the educational centre “FATTER” (Schirgiswalde). 

There were discussed the main directions in the sphere of collaboration, that is, the exchange of students and professors, general holding of informational activities on economics in the course of the meeting.

Club of the Rectors of Europe Meeting

During October 6-11, 2007 the European Business Assembly (EBA) together with the Spain Inn Group educational holding and the international organization Saint Diodor Foundation was holding the International Conference on the Higher Education “EuroEducation 2007: integration of European experience”, within the framework of which the Club of the Rectors of Europe Meeting took place.  

The Club of the Rectors of Europe mission is to consolidate the efforts of the world scientific community. 

The Club strategic task is to unite and coordinate the works of the higher school establishments as for improvement of the educational and methodical, scientific and research, cultural and educational activities. 

According to the Resolution of the Club of the Rectors of Europe №34/10-07 d.d. October 2, 2007 Tamara Smovzhenko, Rector of the University of banking of the National bank of Ukraine became a member of the Club.
