Admission Procedures

1. The University of banking of the National bank of Ukraine (Kyiv) (hereafter – the University) admits the citizens of Ukraine, foreign nationals and also persons destitute of nationality that lawfully live on the territory of Ukraine, have corresponding educational (educational-qualification) level and show desire to get higher education.  

The University:

- announces the undergraduate applicants admission only in the licensed training directions and specialties;
- provides conditions for the undergraduate applicants acquaintance with licenses to carry out educational activities, certificates of the due specialties, directions accreditation;
- ensures adhering to the citizens rights to education that are determined by the Ukrainian legislation, publicity and the Admission Committee openness, the objectivity of the possibilities and skills evaluation. 

2. The citizens of Ukraine have the right to get higher education in the University, in Lviv, Cherkasy and Kharkiv Institutes of banking (hereafter – the Institutes) irrespective of sex, race, nationality, social status and perpetuity, kind and nature of business, world-view beliefs, belonging to parties, attitude toward religion, confession, health status, place of residence and other circumstances. 

The citizens are admitted to the University on a competitive basis according to the skills irrespective of the studying financing sources.

The citizens of Ukraine are guaranteed to get higher education at the costs of the National bank of Ukraine on a competitive basis within the frameworks of the national standards requirements providing that citizens get higher education at the educational-qualification levels of Bachelor, Specialist or Master for the first time ever.  

The citizens of Ukraine who on the medical grounds cannot discharge of the employment duties upon the earlier gained qualification have the right to get the second higher education in external courses at the costs of the National bank of Ukraine according to the results of the contest and medical and social conclusions of the examination board. Such persons should add the examination board medical and social certificate to the application.  

3. Training of foreign nationals and persons destitute of nationality is carrying out according to the Law of Ukraine “On Legal Status of Foreign Nationals and Persons Destitute of Nationality”, the Cabinet of Ministers Resolutions from February 26, 1993 №136 “On Foreign Nationals Education in Ukraine” (as amended) and from August 5, 1998 №1238 “On Approving Regulation on Foreign Nationals and Persons Destitute of Nationality Admission to Higher Educational Establishments”, the Decree of the President of Ukraine from March 25, 1994 №112 “On Arrangements as for Development of Economic Cooperation of Ukrainian Regions with Neighboring Frontier Areas of the Russian Federation” (relates only to Kharkiv Institute of banking).

4. Only persons with complete general secondary education documents of the national standards can enroll in the first course at any of the Institute of the University.  

Admission procedures to obtain the educational-qualification levels of Specialist and Master are carried out on the basis of the received educational-qualification level of Bachelor.

Admission procedures to obtain the educational-qualification level of Master are carried out on the basis of the received educational-qualification level of Specialist (only at costs of the nationals and legal bodies).

5. Financing of the specialists’ preparation at the University and its institutes is realized:
- at costs of the National Bank of Ukraine;
- at costs of the nationals and legal bodies.

6. Organization of the admission procedures of the University is carried out by the Admission Committee, the composition of which is approved by the rector who heads it. 

Organization of the admission procedures of the Institutes is carried out by the screening committees of the Institutes, the composition of which is approved by the Rector.

The Admission Committee of the University acts according to the Regulation on Admission Committee of the University of banking of the National Bank of Ukraine (Kyiv) that is approved by the rector.

The screening committees of the Institutes act according to the above mentioned Regulation and the Regulation on Screening Committee at the University.

According to the Ukrainian Education Quality Estimation Center certificates got in the current year the screening committees of the Institutes also carry out the enrollees competitive selection for their further preparation in directions of the educational-qualification level of Bachelor. 

Personnel Review Boards are formed to hold entrance examinations for enrollees by the Specialists and Masters preparation educationally-professional programs. 

7. According to the licenses in the year 2008 the University and its institutes select students in such directions (specialties) and educational forms:

Terms of studying:
- at the educational-qualification level of Bachelor (full-time and part-time) – 4 years;
- at the educational-qualification level of Specialist on the basis of the educational-qualification level of Bachelor (full-time and part-time) – 1 year ;
- at the educational-qualification level of Specialist on the basis of complete higher education (retraining) – 2 years and 6 months;
- at the educational-qualification level of Master on the basis of the educational-qualification levels of Bachelor and Specialist (full-time and part-time) – 1 year.

8. The students’ selection and admission into the Institute of Masters Preparation and Postgraduate Education in order to get the educational-qualification level of Master are competitive. 

Students who received bachelorhood and got the Diploma with honors admit according to the results of the colloquy in English. 

The rest ones – according to the colloquy in English, grade point average calculated out of the Bachelor Diploma Supplement and the scientific investigations participation under the Bachelor educational-professional programs.  

9. The students’ selection and admission into the Institutes in order to get the educational-qualification levels of Specialist and Master are competitive. 

Students who received bachelorhood and got the Diploma with honors admit according to the results of the colloquy by profession.

The rest ones – according to the colloquy by profession, general rating of marks taken from the Bachelor Diploma Supplement and the scientific investigations participation under the Bachelor educational-professional programs.  

10. The enrollees’ evaluation of knowledge during the entrance examinations is carried out according to the independent evaluation scale of the Ukrainian Education Quality Evaluation Center.

The evaluation of knowledge according to the results of the entrance examinations by profession is realized at the 100-grade scale. The maximum amount of grades out of each discipline is defined by the evaluation criteria, approved by the University Admission Committee.  

11. The admission of the first-year students (full-time and part-time) with the educational-qualification level of junior specialist in economics at the shortened preparation programs (on a space available basis) to get basic higher education at the educational-qualification level of Bachelor is carried out according to the results of the colloquy by profession.

12. Competitive selection to the space available basis financed at the costs of the National bank of Ukraine is carried out at the University and its Institutes separately in directions and by specialties.  

13. To enter the first course to obtain the educational-qualification level of Bachelor (full-time and part-time) an applicant should submit documents from June, 23 till July, 22.  

In order to get higher complete education at the educationally-professional retraining programs the documents should be submitted from June, 16 till July, 14.

July, 7 – July, 22 – terms to enter the fifth course to get the educational-qualification levels of Specialist and Master on the basis of the obtained educational-qualification level of Bachelor, Specialist (full-time and part-time).

14. Entrance examinations to study a part-time course to get higher complete education at the educationally-professional retraining programs are hold during July, 15 – July, 22.

Entrance examinations by profession in order to obtain the educationally-professional retraining programs of Specialist and Master are hold during the period from July, 23 till July, 30.

15. Enrollees personally put in the application for entering the University Institutes where they should indicate the direction of studying, educational form and sources of financing. 

An application form should be supported with: 

- the national standard document on complete general secondary education (the document that confirms the obtained educational-qualification level) and its annex (originals or verified copies at choice);
- health certificate ( original or its verified copy);
- 6 fotos (3 x 4 sm);
- the Ukrainian language and literature, mathematics or fundamentals of economics certificates from the Ukrainian Education Quality Evaluation Center (originals or verified copies);
- copy of a passport;
- copy of an identification number;
- copy of a military service record card;
- copy of a work record book.

All copies of the documents are verified due to the originals by the University (Institutes) or in accordance with the established procedures.  

16. The number of places is settled by the Institutes screening committees and should not exceed:
- 40% out of the total amount of the NBU commissions (aimed at the studying process at the NBU costs); 
- 40% out of the set amount of admission (aimed at the studying process at the costs of individuals and legal bodies). 

17. The admission procedures into the University of banking of the National bank of Ukraine (Kyiv) are controlled by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the National bank of Ukraine. All these regulations have been worked out on the basis of the entrance conditions of the higher educational establishments of Ukraine approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine Decree №1172 d.d. December 25, 2007, considered and coordinated with the admission committee of the University (minute of proceedings №2 d.d. January 28, 2008).
