    From 20 till 23 January, 2010 the Vice-Rector for Educational and Methodical Work of the University of banking NBU Prof. Dr. Iryna Kravchenko visited the Academy of National Economy under the Government of Russian Federation in Moscow (Federation of Russia). During the visit Prof. Dr. Iryna Kravchenko met the Management Board of the Academy and discussed the main issues of the further development of cooperation, as also studied the experience of functioning of Banking and Finance Departments within the organization of the upgrade qualifications for the employees from the Central Bank of Russia. During the visit she also participated in the Round Table discussions on the problems of organization of the integrated programs of studying, the quality of preparation of specialists in banking, mainly, the certification of the fundamental trends of professional activities, as well as occupational attitude of bankers, issues on upgrade qualifications of employees from the Central Bank of Russia.   

    From 17 till 21 February, 2010 the postgraduates of the University of banking NBU took part in III International Scientific and Practical Conference on “Peculiarities of Functioning of National Financial Systems In the Context of Strengthening Globalization Processes” that was organized by the Academy of Finances in Warsaw (Poland) together with the Private Higher School of  Tax Consultancy at STING Academy in Brno (Czech Republic) under the auspices of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Poland.     

      

    From 14 till 17 March, 2010 on the invitation of the European Business Assembly Prof. Dr. Tamara Smovzhenko, Rector of the University of banking NBU, accompanied by Prof. Dr. Grygorii Khoruzhyi, Vice-Rector for Educational Work and International Cooperation of the University of banking NBU paid a visit to Oxford City in Great Britain and participated in the Meeting of Club of Rectors in Europe that gathered together the leaders of higher educational establishments from 21 countries. It had been discussed the problems of modernization of higher education, in particular upgrading quality of preparation of specialists and improving the subject-matter of business education considering the processes of globalization and financial crisis. During their visit Prof. Dr. Tamara Smovzhenko made her speech at the Summit of Leaders in the sphere of education, science and business on “Eastern Partnership: Stability, Efficiency of Management, Economic Ggrowth” with the report on “Problems of Development And Ways of Improving the Efficiency of Functioning of Banking System In Ukraine In the Context of Globalization” and Prof. Dr. Grygorii Khoruzhyi presented his paper on “Eastern Partnership As A New Perspective Towards the Development of Relationships Between Ukraine and European Union”.

     

    Awarding Ceremony

    The University of banking NBU was awarded by the European Business Assembly and the Socrates Committee diploma and honors in nomination “Best Enterprises” in the sphere of high education as innovative, competitive and challenged institution, the leader at the market. Prof. Dr. Tamara Smovzhenko, Rector of the University of banking NBU was rewarded by The Best Manager 2010 Award.

    From 13 till 22 March, 2010 the students from the Institute of Masters Preparation and Postgraduate Education UB NBU and the Lviv Institute of banking UB NBU did practical training at the Bank PKO BP SA regional subsidiary in Lublin (Poland). In the course of training it had been studied the main principles of the Bank PKO BP SA activities, the system of servicing of individuals and companies, service operations with the bank cards, the main types of credit, peculiarities of mortgage lending, as well as providing services for small and medium-sized enterprises.   

      

    On 22 March, 2010 Mr. David Woodgate, General Director at the Institute of Financial Accountants in London (Great Britain) visited the University of banking NBU. It had been organized the meetings with the University academic staff, as also the seminar for teachers and students from the Institute of Masters Preparation and Postgraduate Education UB NBU.

                   

    The Institute of Financial Accountants (IFA) was established in 1916 in Great Britain. It is one of the oldest establishments for financiers and accountants. Every year thousands of specialists in finances from more than 80 countries around the world enter the IFA to obtain the upmarket diplomas as well as the professional qualifications.

    From 28 March till 2 April, 2010 Prof. Dr. Tamara Smovzhenko, Rector of the University of banking NBU and Viktoriia Kostogryz, Associate Professor at the Chair of banking of Cherkasy Institute of banking UB NBU took part in the International Scientific and Methodical Conference on “Modernization of Financial and Economic Education: Essence, Problems and Challenges” at the Financial Academy under the Government of Russian Federation in Moscow (Federation of Russia).

    From 7 till 11 April, 2010 the group of 11 students of the University of banking NBU ( Institute of Masters Preparation and Postgraduate Education UB NBU – 5 students, Lviv Institute of banking UB NBU – 2 students and Cherkasy Institute of banking UB NBU – 4 students) participated in IV International Youth Scientific and Practical Conference on “Scientific Potential of Young People – For the Future of Belarus” at Polissya State University in Pinsk (Belarus). In the course of the Conference it had been studied the experience of organization and activities of the students scientific societies, as well as discussed the development of macroeconomic processes in the national economy, monetary policy and functioning of financial markets, the improvement of accountancy, analysis and audit at present time.

    On 28 April, 2010 President of the Club of Rectors of Europe (Oxford, Great Britain) Professor of the Vienna University Dr.Wil Goodheer paid a visit to the University of banking NBU. During the visit it had been organized the meeting with the University academic staff, as also carried out the round table with the Institute of Masters Preparation and Post graduate Education UB NBU teachers and students to discuss the ways of further University’s integration into the common European area of higher education.  

    From 10 till 15 May, 2010 the group of 3 students of the Institute of Masters Preparation and Postgraduate Education UB NBU participated in the XX Anniversary International Scientific and Practical Conference on “International Cooperation in Implementing Innovative Studying Technologies in High School”, held in Koshytse (Slovakia) and Mishkolts (Hungary). During the Conference it had been discussed the actual problems on the international cooperation in the system of European higher education, implementing the Bologna principles on the academic staff and students mobility. At the end of the Conference all the participants (Oleksandra Kostiana, Oleksandra Pobirchenko, Olga Yanchiiuk) were awarded by the diploma for the best report on “University International Cooperation in Implementing Innovative Technologies into Higher Education of Bankers”.

     From 11 till 15 May, 2010 the group of 3 students of the Institute of Masters Preparation and Postgraduate Education UB NBU, headed by Svitlana Mishchenko, Ph.D., Associate Professor at the Chair of Finance of the Institute of Masters Preparation and Postgraduate Education UB NBU, took part in International Scientific and Practical Conference on “Russia on its Way towards Emerging from Economic Crisis” at the Institute of Business and Law at the Saint-Petersburg State Low-temperature and Food Technologies University (Saint-Petersburg, Russia). In the course of the Conference it had been discussed the actual problems on the state economic policy in context of economic crisis, external economic relations, external and internal threats to national economies, financial and credit regulation etc. On completing the Conference all the participants were handed out the diplomas.  

     From 24 till 30 May, 2010 the delegation from the University of banking NBU comprised of Prof. Dr. Oleksandr Baranovskyi, Vice-Rector of the University of banking NBU, Dr. Tetiana Girchenko, Director of the Institute of Masters Preparation and Postgraduate Education UB NBU and Dr. Ganna Dutka, Director of the Lviv Institute of banking UB NBU took part in the International Scientific Conference on “International Cooperation of Universities In the Era of Globalization” held in Cracow University of Economics in Poland.  

    On 27 May, 2010 the delegation from Vatican consisting of the archbishop Janfranko Ravazzi, Head of Papal Senate on Culture, Ivan Yurkovych, Catholic Nuncio Vatican  Ambassador in Ukraine, Yosyp Milian, the Bishop and the Sister Louisa. The representatives from Vatican met the Rector of the University of banking NBU and made their speech for the University students and academic staff via the video-conference.

    From 1 till 3 June, 2010 Prof. Dr. Grygorii Khoruzhyi, Vice-Rector of the University of banking NBU participated in the 30th Anniversary of foundation of the High School – University of Applied Sciences of the Federal bank in Germany (Hachenburg, Germany).

    From 6 till 9 June, 2010 Ass. Prof. Andrii Tryvailo, Ph.D., Deputy-Director of the Institute of Masters Preparation and Postgraduate Education UB NBU  and Mr. Ivan Rudenko, Deputy Head at the Chair of Philosophic and Social Science at Cherkasy Institute of banking UB NBU participated in the International Conference on “Economics and Future of the Youth” that took place at the Department of Legal and Economic Sciences  in Lublin II Joan Paul Catholic University in Tomashov Lubelski in Poland.

     From 19 June till 4 July, 2010 the group of post-graduates from the University of banking NBU were in training within the International School of Young Researches (ISYR) “Summer Academy 2010” on “Anti-crisis Business Regulation As the Necessary Condition for the Economy Development” at the Financial University under the Government of Russian Federation in Moscow.

    From 24 till 26 June, 2010 Prof. Dr. Anzhela Kuznietsova, Vice-Rector of the University of banking NBU participated in the official admission ceremony to the International Association of Universities at the Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnius (Lithuania).

    From 11 till 19 July, 2010 the group of 4 postgraduates and 12 students of the University of banking NBU headed by Associate Prof. Natalia Pogorelenko, Ph.D. from Kharkiv Institute of banking UB NBU took part in the International Summer Financial School at Baltic International Academy in Riga (Latvia). During the summer school the participants took part in the business training on “Organizational and Economic Aspects of Banking Activities” and the round table on “Modern Problems on Development of Financial Systems in Latvia, Ukraine and other East-European Countries”. The representatives studied the actual state, problems and prospects of the development of economy, as well as financial and banking systems in Latvia, Ukraine and other East-European countries.

    From 21 till 24 July, 2010 Associate Prof. Tetiana Girchenko, Ph.D., Director of the Institute of Masters Preparation and Postgraduate Education UB NBU, took part in the Masters Graduation Ceremony in Graduate School of Management in Barcelona (Spain) where the Master students of the University of banking NBU had been studied according to the Double Diploma Program. 

        

    From 3 till 19 September, 2010 the group of students and post-graduates of the University of banking NBU headed by Associate Prof. Svitlana Mishchenko, Ph.D. participated in the International Seminar on “Financial Markets in the context of Globalization” at the High School – University of Applied Sciences of the Federal bank of Germany in Hachenburg City. 

              

    From 21 till 26 September, 2010 Dr.Prof. Olena Lapko, Head of the Chair of Finance at the Institute of Masters Preparation and Postgraduate Education UB NBU took part in the All-Ukrainian Scientific Conference (within the international participation) on «State and Market: Mechanism and Methods of Regulation within the context of Overcoming Crisis and Transition to Innovative Development” at Saint-Petersburg State Economic and Finance University in Saint-Petersburg (Russia).  

    From 10 till 15 October, 2010 Dr. Prof. Antonina Riakhovska, Rector of the Institute of Economics and Crisis Management, Head of the Chair of Crisis Management at Financial University under the Government of Russian Federation, together with Associate Prof. Natalia Akulova, Ph.D., Head of the Chair of Crisis Management at the Institute of Economics and Crisis Management visited the University of banking NBU. During the visit it had been carried out the roundtable discussions on crisis management problems with the participation of the University scientific researchers and banker-practitioners. The representatives from the Institute of Economics and Crisis Management also organized the meeting for students and scientific staff of the University and the Institutes by means of video-conference. Upon completion Dr.Prof. Antonina Riakhovska and Associate Prof. Natalia Akulova, Ph.D. took part in the International Scientific and Practical Conference on “Banking System in Ukraine in the context of Globalization of Financial Markets” at Cherkasy Institute of banking UB NBU on 14-15 October, 2010.   

        

    From 12 till 17 October, 2010 Dr. Carl William Veeh from George Washington University (Washington, USA) paid a visit to the University of banking NBU. Dr. Veeh met the University academic staff and students, as also participated in the International Scientific and Practical Conference on “Banking System in Ukraine in the context of Globalization of Financial Markets” at Cherkasy Institute of banking UB NBU on 14-15 October, 2010.

    From 16 till 18 October, 2010 Prof. Dr. Anzhela Kuznietsova, Vice-Rector of the University of banking NBU participated in the 2010/2011 Inauguration Ceremony at II Joan Paul Catholic University in Lublin (Poland).

    From 23 October till 7 November, 2010 the group of 4 students from the Institute of Masters Preparation and Postgraduate Education UB NBU did practical training at the Regional Division of Bank PKO BP SA in Lublin (Poland).

    From 26 till 29 October, 2010 Associate Prof. Svitlana Mishchenko, Ph.D., and Associate Prof. Tetiana Odintsova, Ph.D. took part in the International Scientific Conference on “Financial Development of State: History, Theory and Policy” and delivered the reports on “New Approaches to Evaluation of Financial System Stability” and “Regional Aspects of Providing the Population with the Quality Food: Economic Dimension” at Financial University under the Government of Russian Federation in Moscow correspondingly.

    From 20 till 28 November, 2010 the group of post-graduates and students of the University of banking NBU did practical training in the National bank of Poland in Warsaw. They discussed the influence of financial and economic crisis on the activities of Polish banks and measures of stability of financial system, as also studied the policy of the National bank of Poland to maintain the monetary unit stability in the context of forming a single EU monetary area.

    From 24 till 28 November, 2010 the group of 5 students from the Institute of Masters Preparation and Postgraduate Education UB NBU, leaded by Tetiana Khimich, Head of Doctorate and Postgraduate Studies Department at the Institute of Masters Preparation and Postgraduate Education UB NBU took part in the 5th International Banking Forum on “Modern Banking System: State, Problems and Possibilities of Development” at International Bank Institute in Saint-Petersburg (federation of Russia). In the course of the Forum it had been discussed the actual issues on the current situation of banking system, the analysis of crisis preconditions at the world financial markets and finding the ways of forming the post crisis architecture of financial system, as also analyzing the development of banking environment and its influence on the career growth of specialists in banking.   

    From 27 November till 5 December, 2010 the group of 5 post-graduates from the University of banking NBU took part in the International Seminar on “Economic In the Context of Financial Crisis” at the Graduate School of Management in Barcelona (Spain). During the seminar the postgraduates discussed the issues on the mechanisms of crisis management of economy, banking safety and stability, strategic directions of the development of the EU banking system, the problems on protection of the intellectual property and the management of financial information flows in the context of financial crisis.

                                                  

    From 30 November till 4 December, 2010 Associate Prof. Andriy Tryvailo, Ph.D., Deputy Director and Associate Prof. Iryna Chaus, Ph.D., Head of Scientific Department of the Institute of Masters Preparation and Postgraduate Education UB NBU and 2 doctorate students took part in the International Scientific and Practical Conference on “Problems of System Modernization of Russian Economy: Social and Political, Financial and Economic and Ecological Aspects” at the Institute of Business and Law in Saint-Petersburg (Federation of Russia). The representatives of the University of banking NBU delivered the reports on “Formation of Reputation Capital in Bank Establishments” (Ass. Prof. Andriy Tryvailo) and “Role of Ecological Education in the System of Formation of Future Specialists in Economics” (Ass. Prof. Iryna Chaus).

    From 8 till 10 December, 2010 Head of the International Relations Section of the University of banking NBU Mr. Mykhailo Yurkiv took part in the methodological seminar on the international cooperation in the sphere of high education in the context of Bologna process at the Euroacademy in Tallinn (Estonia). During the seminar it had been discussed the modern tendencies of the development of higher education, the processes of international cooperation in higher educational institutions in the context of Bologna process, as also the competence-based approach to the preparation of future specialists.

    From 15 till 19 December, 2010 the group of students from the Institute of Masters Preparation and Postgraduate Education UB NBU took part in the 5th International Students Scientific Regional Universities Conference on “Student Scientific Winter in Brest-2010” at Brest State Technological University in Brest (Belarus).
